I have one last lesson. From time to time (friends try playing evil characters). They figure it’s easier, fun, lots of quick rewards. It ends up unsatisfying, with more and more of the imaginary world opposed to them.
We all have to sell products we don’t like. That’s not what I’m talking about here.
I’m talking about the other stuff. It’s easy to take the shortcut: Use one email list to sell to another. Borrow some content. Promise something you can’t deliver to keepthe client or customer or boss happy.
Don’t do it. The stuff we do sets the tone far beyond the product we’re selling, the business we’re in or the services we deliver. Marketing is the most pervasive form of communications. We set the tone way beyond what we do.
Be good. Do good stuff.
