CULTURE IRELAND 
• The national holiday is the March 17, in 
honor of the patron saint of Ireland. 
• It is said that St. Patrick drove the snakes 
from Ireland. 
• The three-leaf clover and green 
symbols are also symbols which are 
identified with the Irish.
CHARACTERISTICS OF FAMILIES 
• Usually Irish families are 5-6 members. 
Most members are blond and / or 
redheads.
TRANSPORTATION IN IRELAND 
Ireland is a relatively small country, saving you time and money 
on travel. 
• Buses 
Within Dublin operate from 6 am to 11 pm. 
At bus stops is usually a table schedule, list of all stops and 
prices are set according to the distance of the journey. 
• Trains 
The Irish railways Larnród Éireann 
cover most of the cities.
TYPICAL FOOD 
The main ingredient of Irish cuisine is the potato. A 
representative Colcannon dish is made with potatoes and 
garlic. 
One of the drinks associated with Ireland is the 
Guinness and Irish coffee.
WARDROBE 
Irish traditional clothing is pleated and made of wool. An intricate 
Celtic Knot Irish commonly adorn clothing. Bright colors such as 
yellow, orange, red and green, are in the Irish clothing

Men wear long hair 
braided and pleated 
skirts. The skirts are 
stained yellow 
saffron. The Irish also 
used wool pants

Irish women wear turbans. 
Married women cover 
their heads, but girls do

OFFICIAL LANGUAGES 
The official languages are Irish (Gaeilge), native Celtic language,
