2. PROBLEMS IN TASMANIA The Thylacine were here way before the British settlement . They liked eating the sheep that the British had brought over into Tasmania. The British did not know what was happening so they waited to see how it happened and then they discovered the Thylacine.
3. THYLACINE HUNTING BECAME A SPORT After the Government had heard about this amazing creature he decided to hand out big money for the Tassie Tiger. I think it all started when the farmers shot the tigers to protect there sheep. I think because there were so many farms back then everybody was doing it.
4. HABITAT Tassie Tigers lived in lots of different places around Tasmania, and they were definitely near or on farms. It was very rare though to see the Tiger because it blends in with it’s surroundings, in other words it was very well camouflaged. This can help it catch it’s prey or hide from predator's.
5. HOPE FOR THE TASSIE TIGERS Tasmanian National Parks and Wildlife Service officers believe that because they had received so many sightings of the Tassie Tigers, it may have meant that a colony still existed after everybody believed that they were extinct. ( but that was back then and I wish it were now)
6. This is a picture of the last Tassie Tiger. HOW THE LAST TASSIE TIGER DIED It was very sad when the last Tassie Tiger died and I will tell you how. The Tiger was on the ground asleep when a tree fell over and landed on it’s stomach. Did I tell you that people teased Tassie Tigers in the Hobart zoo by making them jump at the fence? This is a picture of the skeleton of the last Tassie Tiger.
