•Popular with customers
•Close to my house
•Big assortment of products

• Unfortunately security guys didn’t allow me to take pics inside, so I had to
use pics available on the Internet
• Arsen looks like many other supermarkets but bigger in
  size.
• The store has a big sign in red. It definitely catches
  attention and drives customers in.
• Doors work automatically, so customers feel welcomed
as when they approach the store, doors open.
• Color scheme:
• The prevalent colors of the store are red and blue.
However, price tags for products on sale are in red and
yellow colors. In such a way they stand out and catch
  customer attention.
• Floor & ceiling
• Floor is covered with grey tile. It is quite slippery
especially when it is raining or snowing outside.
• Ceiling is pretty high, so it makes the store look bigger.
What concerns me, I have a feeling that I am in some
  kind of hangar.
• The store is properly lit, so the light is not too bright or to
dim. It is very convenient as I don’t have to strain my
eyes to see products and price tags.
• Noise is created by customers, announcements and cash
registers. The level of noise depends on the time I visit
stores. For example, in the morning and near the closing
time it is not very noisy as there are not too many
customers and cash registers don’t beep too much. The
level of noise is pretty high at 6-7 pm when the majority
of customers stop by to do groceries.
• I noticed that in some stores music doesn’t play or plays
from time to time. It is not too loud, so music doesn’t
interrupt customers from conversations they may have
  with personnel and each other.
• The store is crowded with merchandise and very often
some pieces are just standing in the center of the store
  which makes it look messy.
• Due to the fact that the store sells different kinds of
cooked food, there is always the pleasant smell of grilled
  chicken.
• Cash registers are located not far from the
  exit/entrance.
• The store security is pretty visible as two security guys
are always walking back and forth near cash registers.
• I want to stay at that store for about 10-15 minutes. I
usually need that time to get all the things I want.
• Employees are mostly females aged 19-28.
• Salespeople have a uniform in colors matching the color
scheme of the store. It creates the atmosphere of unity
  and professionalism.
• The salesperson has a script to follow with each
customer. He/she usually says something like “Hello. Do
you have a discount card? Do you need a bag?”
• The first products I notice are those displayed on posters
  located on the doors.
• There is a central display table with featured products
• Items “for sale” are located near the entrance
• There are free samples
  and demonstrations but
  only on weekends.
• Products located at eye level are usually not very
expensive, nor very cheap. The quality of such goods is
  not excellent.
• Expensive alcohol
  beverages like
  Hennessy or Martini
  are in the least
  accessible locations
• The most expensive
  products are located
  at the top while
  cheapest ones in the
  middle or at the
  bottom of the shelf.
• Impulse items like chewing gum, chocolate bars and
condoms are located near the cash register
• Customers may come alone or with
their friends/families. It is hard to say
whether there are more groups of
  customers or individual buyers.
• Due to the fact, that there are many
teens and adults, the average age is
  about 26-28.
• On average, customers stay for 10-
  20 minutes
• Most customers appear to be on a
mission, that is why 99% of them
  purchase products in the store
• Special lockers, info-kiosks, coffee
  machines and information are near
the entrance to the convenience of
  customers.
• I noticed trash bins in the
store. It is really great to
  have them in a store.
• There are birds flying in the
shop. I have no idea how
they got there but it is not
  very hygienic.
• Cereals, rice, sugar and flour are located in some open
barrels which is really awful. People may spit there or put
  their dirty hands inside barrels.
• Fire extinguishers
  are located near
  toilets, which is
  weird. If fire starts
  in the center of the
  store, people
  would need to rush
  there to get
  extinguishers.
• I noticed that there
  much more
  products for cats
  than for dogs. It
  makes me think of
  habits in this part of
  the world. More
  people have cats as
  they are easier to
  take care of than
  dogs.
