4. In January 2007 we had over 200 people from all over the country attend what was the first edition of the YOUTH SUMMIT . Focused on education last year’s event had a number of very important speakers such as: Lord Neil Kinnock (Worldwide Chairman British Council), Mr. Alexandru Gussi (Presidential Advisor), Tudor Giurgiu (TVR President), Felix Tataru (IAA President), Emil Hurezeanu (TV personality ), Corina Murafa (Romanian Youth Delegate United Nations), Radu Georgescu (President GECAD Group) and many more. The outcome of the event was the first joint declaration of some of the most important leaders in Romanian society regarding the future of education in Romania and the possibility of further development in Romania What happened at last year’s Youth Summit?

First stage : Undertaking a national communication campaign in all 41 counties to recruit at least two young people aged 15 – 25 from each county to represent their community in Bucharest at the Youth Summit. Second stage : The boot camp that will bring toghether the youth representatives from across the country to a 3 day session that will prepare them for the big debate How&when are we going to do it? Third stage : Youth Summit gathers some of the most important people in Romania and worldwide to talk about the main issues facing young people today. 6. With the support of the Ministry of Education we will communicate the Summit in all schools and universities of the capital cities of the 41 counties of Romania. Our aim is to select 82 youth delegates that are representative in their community and dedicated to transforming Romania. 8. The event will bring together the most important representative from authorities , companies , civic society , mass-media and of course young people . This last group will be represented in Bucharest by the over 90 national youth delegates that will present the conclusions they reached in the Youth Summit Boot Camp. 15. Finally, what is ORICUM all about? ORICUM is a youth organization based in Romania inspiring young people to be innovative and creative. Our initiatives are aimed at creating a communication platform that links four major aspects of young people's lives: urban culture, practical education, innovative entertainment and sport. Our team has so far created concepts (either programmes or events) that have proven their value: ICUBE Competition, STIMULTAN , Youth Summit, PEACE THROUGH SPORT , URBAN QUEST , Filter Design Competiton , MENTORSHIP , Be Your Own Hero , SPLASH! , Street Delivery and Youth Delegate at the UN . These will be followed by other initiatives in the fields of urban art, design, science and technology, public space innovation, music events, and others.
