2. INTRODUCTION
 Zach Pilchen, a graduate with highest honors of the George
Washington University Law School master of laws program, has
been involved with environmental law for years. One area of law
Zach Pilchen has a passion for is the Clean Air Act, which has
created health benefits that significantly outstrip the costs of its
implementation.
The Clean Air Act and its amendments reduce air pollution from
both industrial sources, such as factories and processing
facilities, and consumer sources, such as cars and trucks.The
1990 Clean Air Act Amendments have been projected to prevent
hundreds of thousands of deaths per year, due to the reduction
of particulate matter in the air.

3. 1990 CLEAN AIR ACT
AMENDMENTS
 In 2020 alone, more than 200,000 adult deaths from conditions
caused by air pollution will be prevented by the Clean Air Act
Amendments, as well as thousands of prevented cases of ozone-
related mortality, chronic bronchitis, and heart attack, among
other conditions.
These prevented deaths and illnesses have a significant
economic impact. In 2020, the Clean Air Act Amendments will
prevent the loss of more than 5 million days of school and 17
million days of work, ensuring a better-educated and more
productive American workforce.
