3. II– THREE REASONS WHY WE SHOULD NOT WORRY B.) It’s unwise because of our Father (vs. 26 to 30) D.) It’s unwise because of our Future (vs. 34) C .) It’s unwise because our Faith (vs. 31 – 33) A.) It’s unnecessary because there’s to life than the physical (vs. 25)
4. B.) Worry is unwise because of your heavenly Father “ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” – Mathew 6:26 – 30
5. B.) Worry is unwise because of your heavenly Father The basic point of our Lord Jesus Christ is that there is absolutely no reason to worry because God our heavenly Father cares for us. To illustrate his point, Jesus shows how unnecessary and foolish it is to worry about the Food, Life expectancy and clothing. a.) Food (vs. 26) - Jesus is is showing us how birds who do not have a complicated process to acquire food is provided for by the heavenly Father. He reminds us that we are much more better than the birds. Our Heavenly Father cares for us. (Mathew 7:7 to 11) He is not saying we should be lazy, but we should not worry about it.

7. B.) Worry is unwise because of your heavenly Father c.) Clothing (vs. 28 - 30) The lilies of the field make no effort to grow and no part in designing or coloring themselves compared to humans who spend so much time and money to dress themselves. Yet God has clothed these field lilies which do not even last very long
8. “ Oh ye of little faith” – It is interesting to note that when our Lord Jesus Christ used this expression he used them when people worry about Food, Life and clothing: And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. – Mathew 8:24 to 26 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? – Mathew 14:31 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? – Mathew 16:8
9. C.) Worry is unwise because of our faith “ Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” (Mathew 6:31,32) - Worry is inconsistent with our faith. God cares for us and promised that he will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. (Philippians 4:6, 19) - The Gentiles, or unbelievers only eagerly seek the temporal because they have nothing to live for but the present. Most of philosophy of the Gentiles during Jesus day was to “Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die” (1 Corinthians 15:32)
10. Instead of worrying just like the Gentiles do, Jesus is instructing us to: “ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Mathew 6:33 "Seek ye first,“ - Protos, means first. First in a line of more than one options. Of all the things you can choose from in life to be occupied on or concerned about, of all the priorities of life this is number one, “ Kingdom of God” – The reign of Jesus Christ in the hearts of man. “ and all these things shall be added unto you” – You put God first and his Kingdom first and God will take care of your physical needs.
11. D.) Worry is unwise because of our future “ Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” – Mathew 6:34 Tomorrow will take care of itself because it is in the Father’s heavenly hands. Each day has enough trouble of its own. As believers we have to concentrate on the present instead of worrying about the future. We do not need worry what may come in the future, because God holds the future.
12. I don't know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day. I don't borrow from it's sunshine, For it's skies may turn to gray. I don't worry o'er the future, For I know what Jesus said, And today I'll walk beside Him, For He knows what is ahead. I don't know about tomorrow, It may bring me poverty; But the One Who feeds the sparrow, Is the One Who stands by me. And the path that be my portion, May be through the flame or flood, But His presence goes before me, And I'm covered with His blood. Many things about tomorrow, I don't seem to understand; But I know Who holds tomorrow, And I know Who holds my hand
