The Royal Spanish Golf Federation is the national governing body for golf in Spain. It is a private, non-profit association based in Madrid that organizes state-level competitions and promotes golf across Spain through regional federations. It also handles sports discipline in accordance with Spanish law and its statutes. Golf first emerged in Scotland in the 15th century and spread across Europe in the following centuries. The first Spanish golf club was established in 1891 in Las Palmas.

5. The Romans practiced a play with a curved stick and a ball
made of feathers that could be a history of the game of
golf. Some historians argue that it would have originated in
the Netherlands and that the term comes from the Dutch
word kolf meaning stick.
The first news about this sport come from the 15th century,
in Scotland, where - according to the legend - golf has 18
holes because the whisky has 18 measures. He
immediately had great acceptance, so that King James II
banned it so that his subjects not to abandon the arts of
defence for the war. Towards 1500 that prohibition was
lifted by the popularity that had also reached, and this law
was ignored.
6. In its beginnings, golf managed that they compete as an
equal, nobles and commoners. The first match of which
are data, is that played the Prince of Wales with John
Paterson (very skilled in the game Shoemaker) in 1682.
In 1744, the first players Association was founded in
Scotland, and in 1745, also in the United Kingdom was
created the first rules of golf. The first golf associations
were organized in the 18th century: the Honourable
Company of Edinburgh Golfers (1744), the St. Andrews
Society of Golfers (1754).
The first Spanish golf club was established in Las Palmas
(Gran Canaria) in 1891.
7. Golf is a sport that is to take a ball of small
dimensions in a pit using different types of sticks,
using the least number of strokes possible. The
starting area is called tee and where is located the pit
is called green, lush greenery perfectly cared for and
mown.
It is a sport that takes place outdoors, in nature, and

10. Severiano Ballesteros Sota, also known
as Seve Ballesteros, was a Spanish
golfer.
He was born on 9th of April 1957 in
Pedreña.
He was one of the professionals with
best palmarés in the history of golf.
Their titles include five championships
of the World Match Play, two top
positions in the selective: Augusta
Masters tournament, and three in the
British Open. After his retirement was
golf course designer and tournament
organizer.
Finally he died on 7th of May 2011.
