1. Use this soft, you can upload coordinate data or PCODE data from computer to
total station, or download measure data, coordinate data or PCODE data from total
station to computer, and then calculate it.
This software FOIFCOM can be used for
OTS 238, OTS 538, OTS632, OTS635
RTS 238, RTS 538, RTS632, RTS635
1. Upload PCODE data to total station memory
1.1 Editing a PCODE file
Before uploading, create a TXT file (*.TXT) to edit PCODE library.
The data format is:

“*”can be number or letter, the length of PCODE is not more than 8 characters,
and one PCODE need one line, please refer to the following figure:
NOTE: Only 50 PCODEs(50 lines) can be received by total station.
1.2 Make the instrument in PCODE data loading mode
a. Connect instrument and PC correctly with cable
b. Setting the communication parameters of instrument(Please refer to the Section “12.10
Setting parameter of data communication”on instrument manual)
c. Make the instrument in PCODE data loading mode

1.Make sure the instrument is
in Memory Manager mode on

2.Press the [EDM] key twice to
display page 3.
3.Press the [F2](LOAD DATA)

5. Press the [F1] key to input
file name, press the [F4] to
confirm.

1.3 Loading data
a. Click the icon of FOIFcom600 to open the software
b. In the menu, click the upload button to set serial communication parameters, every item
should be same as set in the instrument.

4. c. After the setting is finished, press the “OK”button, then select the file which was edited to
upload, click the “Open”button.
d. Data begin to be uploaded to instrument memory, at the bottom of the software FOIFcom,
the prompt information will be shown. When the upload finishing, the information “ALL Sent”
shown and the total station come back to “LOAD DATA”submenu.
5. 2. Upload coordinate data to total station memory
2.1 Editing a PCODE file
Before uploading, create a TXT file (*.TXT) to edit coordinate data file.
The data format is:
PT#,X,Y,Z,PCODE
PT# and PCODE can be number or letter, PCODE is not necessary to be input, but the comma
before PCODE is necessary, and one point need one line, please refer to the following figure:
2.2 Make the instrument in coordinate data loading mode
The procedure is same as section “1.2 Make the instrument in PCODE data loading mode”
2.3 Loading data
The procedure is same as section “1.3 Loading data”
6. 3. Download measured data from total station memory to PC
3.1 Make FOIF Com in receiving mode
Click the download button to set serial communication parameters, every item should be same
as set in the instrument.
After the setting is finished, the FOIF Com is in receiving mode.
3.2 Send data from instrument to PC
a. Connect instrument and PC correctly with cable
b. Setting the communication parameters of instrument (Please refer to the Section “12.10
Setting parameter of data communication”on instrument manual)
c. Make the instrument in data sending mode
Please refer to the following procedures: (Please refer to the Section “10.8 Sending Data”on
instruction manual)
d. After the sending is finished, the instrument will return SEND DATA submenu
automatically.
7. 3.3 Save data
Click the SAVE icon to save the data.
