2. What is AdBlue® and how should I use it?
 AdBlue® is a high purity solution of
urea in demineralized water
(32.5%).
 It is used to chemically reduce
nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions
from vehicles powered by diesel
engines.
 AdBlue® is contained in a separate
tank and sprayed into the exhaust
gases. Never fill the diesel fuel tank
with AdBlue®.

3. How much AdBlue® will I need?
 You will not need to replenish
AdBlue® every time you refill
with diesel fuel. Check your
AdBlue® gauge for when to
refill.
 The AdBlue® consumption
will vary according to vehicle
type and model. For most
trucks for example, it will be
approximately 4% of your
diesel fuel consumption : for
every 100 liters of diesel
consumed you would need 4
liters AdBlue®

4. Why will AdBlue® make me save on fuel?
 SCR with AdBlue® converts NOx outside the engine into harmless
nitrogen and water, with the help of a catalytic converter and diesel
exhaust fluid.
 Competing technology EGR combats NOx inside the engine by re-
circulating a portion of the exhaust back through the engine’s
cylinders. This requires the engine to work harder and consume
more fuel.
 SCR process allows engines to operate at maximum efficiency,
increasing fuel economy, and lowering maintenance costs and
extending service intervals.
 OEMs and fleets utilizing SCR have seen fuel efficiencies ranging
from four to eleven percent in trucks equipped with SCR technology.

5. Is AdBlue® harmful?
 It is non-toxic and simple to
use.
 If you get it on your skin or
clothes, simply rinse with
plenty of water.
 AdBlue® is not harmful for
humans or animals (unless
ingested).
 AdBlue® is not explosive.

6. Where can I find AdBlue®?
 You will find AdBlue® pumps either at your
home depot or at truckstops, and they will
have filling nozzles similar to those you use
for diesel.
 There is also an option to buy the product
in 10 liter cans with a filling spout which
makes it easy to pour into your AdBlue®
tank. These bottles are available from
various outlets.
