1. MGMT Time to pretend In contrast to the other video, there doesn't really seem to be a relationship between the visuals and the lyrics. The song is based on life and what he wants to do. Basically the typical rocker life, make music, make some money and take drugs “ get some women”. This representation of the rock life style is portrayed in the lyrics of this song/video. However there appears to be an ironic take on the rock and roll lifestyle. There is also an ironic referencing of some 1970s rock videos such as Led Zeppelin. The music video is an electric pop video. There styling of their video’s mostly consists of psychedelic style graphics and animations. This video does kind of link in with the video in how it sounds, but lyrically it does not. It does show the band playing together and on their own, however green screen is used to change the background and add special effects.
