Dive into the LAUNCH Pop-Up Pool Party
Bring along your brightest pair of togs and your splash-proof dancing shoes as LAUNCH continues
its celebration of Darwin’s young people with a pop-up pool party, during the Nightcliff Seabreeze
Festival.
This Wednesday 6 May LAUNCH brings together a splash of Darwin talent with rapper and MC,
Requiem, Battle of the Bands winners, Champagne With Mary Jane and the sweet jazzy tunes of
Love Patrol.
Lord Mayor Katrina Fong Lim is excited about this free LAUNCH event and encourages the
community to come together and celebrate youth culture.
“The LAUNCH Pop-Up gigs are programmed in public spaces and parks all over our city, which is
fantastic for anyone who wants to get involved,” said the Lord Mayor.
“I invite all our young people to head down to the charming Nightcliff Pool, soak in some great
local bands and enjoy a fantastic night out,” she added.
Chrystianna Moran the event organizer, a young person herself, is excited to be organising the
event in a uniquely Darwin venue.
“I love the relaxed vibe of the Seabreeze Festival and I can’t wait to listen to some of my
favourite local bands play while we all get to relax in the water,” said Chrysti.
The afternoon also includes a graffiti battle, sausage sizzle, skating demo, face painting and watch
out for the (inflatable) crocs.
The pool party will be held at the Nightcliff Pool on Wednesday 6 May from 4:30-7:30pm and is a
drug and alcohol free event.
