2. • File transfer is the movement of a various number files being transferred over PC’s and
laptops. A collection of variously stored electronic files can be moved by physically
moving the electronic storage medium such as the computer’s diskette, hard disk etc. by
sending this over one place to another or by doing this over the telecommunications
medium.
• Without the use of this piece of technology we will find it hard transfer any form of data
from one system to another whether it be via the internet, email etc. and the data trying to
be shared will have to be copied.
3. • This can also be known as file swapping. File sharing is being able to access and share
various files with a limitless amount of users. There are several ways a user can share the
files. The common techniques for file storage, distribution and transmission include:
• Removable storage devices
• Using a centralized file hosting server installations on networks
• World wide web hyperlinked documents
• Distributed peer-to-peer networks
• Without the use of this system it the same outcome as file transfer you won’t be able to
share your files over any method and you want to find information from another user
you’re going to have to copy it.
