3. YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS,
MAKE YOUR PITCH: OVERVIEW
• Presented by Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) in partnership with
the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure
• Open to Ontario high school students in Grades 9 – 12
• Two-minute video describing your business idea
• Evaluated by a panel of expert judges combined with online voting
• Finalists will receive a trip to Toronto to attend a boot camp at
OneEleven and pitch live at OCE’s award-winning Discovery conference

The submission period for all video entries closes.
All entries must include a signed letter of consent
and a typed transcript.
MARCH 10 – APRIL 2, 2015
Submitted videos are posted to the website.
To increase the number of votes, students are
encouraged to promote their videos on social media.
APRIL 26 – 28, 2015
Finalists will receive a trip to Toronto where they will
participate in programming from April 26-28, 2015 with
accommodations in downtown Toronto.

Canada’s leading innovation-to-commercialization conference.
• Discovery brings together key players from industry, academia,
government, international delegations, the investment community,
entrepreneurs and students to pursue collaboration, employment
and sales opportunities.
• Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2015, Discovery is Canada’s
largest showcase of leading-edge technologies, best practices and
research.
Judging Process:
Twenty finalists are selected through a combination of expert judging (60 per cent of the overall score) and popular online voting (40 per cent of the overall score).
The expert judges are selected from the entrepreneurship and innovation community across Ontario.

Reserved entry into the Summer Company program where students receive up to $3,000 in startup funding and mentorship to launch their business
