Qualifications
Fernando P. Mabbayad, Jr. is a 1st year Associate Manager in the Assurance practice of

passing the CPA board exam in October 2010. He graduated with a degree in Bachelor of
Science in Accountancy at University of Santo Tomas. His performance ratings in the last

Fernando was engaged in the audit of mining, publication, not for profit organizations,
manufacturer of electronics products, chemicals, information technology, automotives,
construction, leasing, textile, holding and education industries where he performed actual
fieldwork for complex transactions/processes, high and sensitive audit risk areas and
other audit procedures as appropriate. He also assisted clients on tax, accounting and
other audit related matters that entails research and formulation of opinions, written
replies to queries raised by clients. He was able to familiarize himself in providing
suggestions and recommendations to improve clients’ internal controls, accounting
policies/procedures and risk management processes through preparation of management
letters. He is used to fulfilling interoffice reporting requirements to ensure the compliance
with clients’ group accounting principles. He was also exposed to GAAP.
His primary responsibilities include supervising and administering staff in the audit
fieldwork, reviewing work of his staff, directly assisting in the preparation of auditor’s
report, review of audited financial statements, income tax computations, income tax
returns and other reports required for statutory compliance and ensuring quality in
delivering client service, preparing and submitting reports to the partner. He is also part of
learning and development group wherein he participated in teaching and training of New
hires to first year senior associates.
Fernando is also assigned to Bangladesh to work on financial statements audit on
companies engaged in textile industries. He was engaged to audit the one of the
Companies of Beximco Group in Bangladesh where he was primarily assigned to assist in
the Bond offering of the Client.
RelevantSkills and
Experience
· Knowledge in the firm’s Global Audit Methodology (GAM) and GAMx, E&Y audit tool
· Managed the whole engagement by reviewing and supervising the work of the staff
and initiating the planning and assignment of responsibilities including detailed
review, evaluate and give comments on the performance and work done of the staff
supervised.
· Assists in the preparation and reviews auditor’s report, audited financial statements,
income tax computations, income tax returns and other reports required for statutory
compliance.
· Discusses financial reports and audit issues with client personnel during audit
fieldwork and closing meetings.

· Four (4) tax season experience in mining, not for profit organizations and
manufacturing industries and other industries listed above.
· Assists clients in assessing impairment of assets in accordance with IAS 36.
· Serves as a counselor to six counselees for the last MDS Cycle and for the current
year as well.
