2. Carbon dioxide is pumped into the
atmosphere, the seas are becoming more
acidic, making small life harder to survive.
With the help of three scientist at the
Helmholtz Center for Oceanographic
Research in Kiel, Germany bred new
kinds of plankton called “Emiliania
Huxleyi”.
3. The new plankton’s shell also effects the food
chain because of there hard shells it makes it
harder for jellyfish, copepods and shrimp to eat
them "They become like French fries," Reusch
said one of the three scientist at the Helmholtz
Center .
4. “Emiliania Huxleyi” shells are made from
Calcium Carbonate which makes up 4% of the
earth’s crust and is found throughout the world.
Calcium Carbonate is also the most common
natural forms of chalk, limestone, and marble.
