you can do over the next couple
of weeks to help prepare for that
big QUIT DAY
4. Tip One
Run through an average day in your mind – think
about when you smoke, who with, where, what
time and what you are doing while you smoke…
Here’s some examples you might do:
Wake up turn off alarm and have a cigarette
before anything else…
Have another cigarette after breakfast
Have cigarette with coffee at 11am
Go through your whole day… and jot the
information down on some paper
5. Change the Routine
Okay… now think about making some changes
on the paper… perhaps instead of lighting up
as soon as you wake up… have a shower, get
dressed and have breakfast first…
Instead of having a cigarette every time you
have a coffee, change the beverage and don’t
smoke until at least 20 minutes afterwards
Think about where you can change the routine
and you’ll find you are taking your first steps
to breaking the habit…
6. A good way to break a
habit is to replace it with
a new one…
Your mind will be
creating new links to the
behaviour…
7. Do this from now
until Quit Day and
you will be ahead of
the game…
