1. LOT Program Next 6 Months:
• maintenance of 2008 Scholarship award winners ( this includes making sure fall
payments are satisfied as well as prepare for spring payment distributions)
• processing paperwork for alternate winners starting in Spring and Fall 2009
semesters
• handle all phone calls in regards to questions about LOT scholarship program
• handling all emails from students with questions in regards to maintenance of
their award.
• handle student issues- ex: those students not meeting eligibility requirements
• advising students on proper paperwork that needs to be filed with HESC (FAFSA
and TAP or “Scholarship and Grant Payment Application”)
• maintenance of student information that needs to be sent to HESC
• processing of HESC reports including students listed as the following:
- no payment application on file for student
- student “de-certified” by college (ex's include: “not registered”, “not
matriculated”, “not attending”, “residency issues” etc.)
* follow up with all students on these reports via phone, email and mail if necessary
in regards to these issues (roughly anywhere from 80-100 students)
• process of “Revoke” list sent to HESC to remove students no longer eligible for
scholarship award.
• creating and transmitting student data files (flat files via HESC EFAN Layout
specifications) sent to HESC as needed for student information both prior and
new recipients.
• maintenance of LOT Database- noting student accounts about changes and
updates
• maintaining current school, student, and college database information
• maintenance of student files and records- file paperwork as needed.
• work with NY lottery with issues surrounding student payments for prior years
outside of the HESC network
• working on LOT resources for students ex: LOT Facebook Group – Free
Facebook page monitored by Julia Lefkovits. Make available to those students
that have or are currently receiving the LOT scholarship. This would allow for the
students to network with other award winners around the state as well as allow for
us to track where and what our students have accomplished during and after their
college career. Would also help to promote future series of LOT awards and add
fresh, innovative, modern edge to the award.
