Feature Overview
The Call To Action (CTA) feature allows the overlay of text and/
or images with an action URL at a specified start and end time in
a ZiMovi hosted video. Unlike other free platforms, which either
do not allow CTAs or only allow links to a range of approved
URLs, a ZiMovi CTA can include any URL enabling a wide range
of possible actions when clicked on.
A CTA is overlaid on a video at a chosen start point for a number
of seconds, after which it fades out. It can be positioned
anywhere on the screen, chosen from a set of pre-determined
locations. It is possible to have multiple CTAs in a video and
multiple CTAs on-screen simultaneously.
A watermark is usually your organisation logo, a product
or brand. There is one watermark per channel and you can
choose on a per-video basis if you want to enable it. Typically a
watermark is visible for the entire length of the video, a bit like
the channel ident you see on the top left of your TV screen.
Benefits
ZiMovi CTAs are not restricted in the same manner as
on other video platforms where you can only call a list of
pre-defined URLs or go to your own website.

Use Cases
CTAs allow a video owner to integrate video content with
external actions at specific point(s) in a video via a call to
an external URL. This enables the video owner to create a
specific interaction with the viewer in a number of different
ways as determined by the URL.
When a viewer clicks on a CTA the video is paused and a new
browser window opens, depending on what the specified
URL is they may be able to:
	 • View a page on a web site
	 • Make a phone call
	 • Complete a questionnaire
	 • Purchase a product/service
	 • Download a file
	 • Send an email
Once the CTA action has been completed the viewer can
either close the window or switch back to the tab where the
video was being viewed. All viewer actions are recorded in
Analytics  Call-to-action allowing channel owners to see at
what point in the CTA on-screen start/end timing it is clicked
and the URL the user has been directed to.

Interacting with viewers allows you to gain valuable feedback, gain opinions and collect data, directly
from your viewers at the exact time you need it. ZiMovi’s unique IQ feature allows channel owners
to embed a single or series of questions on their channel.
A questionnaire form is called via a URL so it can be included at a specific point in a video via a
Call To Action (CTA) or anywhere you want to share or embed a questionnaire. Unlike a CTA, a
questionnaire is not tied to a video, it can be used standalone without the user having to view a
video. This means it can additionally be used in scenarios where a video is not required as a reason
for the questionnaire, further increasing the use cases.
With ZiMovi Smart Questionnaires you can have full control of the form, questions and answers.
Build your questionnaire to meet your objective from a single answer competition entry or defined
access to a complete exam, multi-question form. Predefined fields create more targeted answers by
filtering questions based upon the previous answers. For example If you come from ‘x’ go straight
to question ‘y’.

A questionnaire can also be used to collect feedback in video
format where a textual or video question has a video response
recorded by the viewer. The channel owner can specify
the length of time the user has to record a response. The
questionnaire results will appear within the ZiMovi portal where
they can be reviewed and published to the channel if required.
Obtain personally identifiable information including:
	 • Full name
	 • Postal address,
	 • Email address,
	 • Mobile/fixed line numbers,
	 • Social networking URL’s,
	 • Age, etc

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the name given to the process of aiming to improve a website’s
organic ranking position within a Search Engine, such as Google or Bing, with the aim to appear
higher in the rankings for relevant search terms.
Video Optimisation improves the generic ranking for the page that a videos sit on, increasing
click conversion rate (the analytical figure given to the number of sales conversions derived from
the originating link) and organically improving your website’s SEO enabling you to stay ahead of
competitors. Search Engines use spiders/crawlers/bots to automatically build an Index summary
of a website created from its’ text-based content. A standard .mp4 video file cannot be ‘viewed’
by these crawlers as they index content on the internet. These crawlers can only read the textual
content associated with the file, typically this might include the file name, creation date, owner and
size so it is in vital to create readable content associated to your video.

Optimisation is automatically applied to every video
uploaded to ZiMovi, whether the video is used within a
ZiMovi channel or embedded within a website. Each time
a video is uploaded, a structured data file is submitted to
Google enabling the video URL to be searchable by Google.
Search results contain a thumbnail image (provided by you
or auto-generated by Google) of your video content, as well
as the information contained in your site map. This object is
included in the page header so is extremely crawler friendly,
therefore a ZiMovi hosted video will consistently appear
higher in the search engine page rankings than the identical
video hosted on a free platform.

Our video optimisation is automated, so no
manual editing of the HTML page is required.
We use the details you enter within the Video Edit
form to optimise the meta data in our auto-generated
HTML page.
Try and include as much relevant textual information as
possible, with a specific focus on the following fields:
	 • Title – the one-line overview of your video. Google
truncates the title to 70 characters so keep it below
this for maximum SEO impact and increased chance
of a click-through
	 • Description – a text box that allows you to
enter a full textual description of your video.
This can include URLs to other locations
and keywords
	 • Tags – meta data used to group videos or associate
them with a Twitter hashtag

professionally produced ask the production company for a
copy of the script and convert it to .vtt format.
Use this feature to:
• Encourage comments – if comments are enabled we include
the top comments that have been posted in the HTML
page. Encouraging comments has SEO benefits as search
engines value human interaction and add page rank value

• Upload a vtt format subtitle file - WebbVTT subtitles make
videos friendlier to the search crawlers. If you don’t have
one you can use a text editor to create one, even if you only
include a few lines of text
• Link your ZiMovi channel to your website - search engines
like associated video content with web pages. Including
quality and relevant link-backs to your website increases
your quality score pushing you up the page rankings
• Auto-sync your videos to YouTube and Facebook - actively
encourage viewers to share the video on their own social

Syncing
A channel owner can choose to connect a YouTube channel and a Facebook page to a ZiMovi
channel. (Twitter sync due for release in August 2016). When appropriately tagged and authorised, a
ZiMovi hosted video will be automatically synchronised to the chosen platforms when it is uploaded/
edited allowing you to upload your video, quickly and easily to all platforms through your ZiMovi
account. Auto-syncing is currently available to both YouTube and Facebook social platforms, further
increasing the reach of your videos.
Sharing
A viewer can share a video across their own social networks via the share button in the video player.
Viewers can also share videos via SMS, Email, QR Code or by a direct link, all at the touch of a button
pre, during or post play. All share and view analytics are visible within the platform and available to
download as a CSV.

Video viewing restrictions empower video owners to set limits as to who can watch a video and
when. ZiMovi allows channel owners to restrict the viewing permissions of videos to only those
with a ZiMovi account, allowing owners to collect personal data on exactly who is watching their
videos. Viewers without a ZiMovi account will be prompted on-screen to sign-up to watch the video
selected.
ZiMovi’s Viewer Authentication features also enable viewers of ZiMovi hosted videos, embedded on
a website or intranet that has sign-in/log-in functionality, to be automatically authenticated using
their localised company login, without having to login to a ZiMovi channel. For channel owners
this allows them to embed viewing analytics into a 3rd party solution, as well as within ZiMovi, to
assist in deeper analytics and reporting. For the viewer it means that they are not presented with an
additional login process before viewing a video, thereby maximising viewing numbers and a better
customer experience.

Use this feature to:

• Seamlessly authenticate viewers via a ZiMovi login or a
localised company login hosted videos embedded on a
public facing website. All the viewing data can be securely
transmitted to a 3rd party solution and uploaded to a
database for analysis.
Playing an embedded protected video triggers a check
to confirm if the viewer is already logged into the website.
If it returns ‘true’ they do not have to sign-in to the ZiMovi
channel to view the video as ZiMovi utilises the existing
authentication that has been done by the main website. You
can manage privacy settings to enable if the log-in attempt
returns ‘false’ your viewer will have to sign-in to the ZiMovi
channel as normal.

The Channel White Label feature that enables a ZiMovi channel and platform to be branded with
your choice of domain name. This is a bespoke service that is carried out on a consultancy basis.
By implementing this feature anyone viewing a video on the channel will not see zimovi.com in any
of the URLs. Instead they will see the channel owner’s choice of domain name thereby creating the
impression it is a private video channel.

Feature Overview
All cloud-based video platforms are accessed via a URL
(examples include https://www.youtube.com, https://vimeo.
com and https://www.zimovi.com). Viewers watching a video
will see the platform domain name in the URL indicating it is
hosted on a public, shared platform. Channel white labelling
allows for channel owners to replace https://www.zimovi.com
with https://www.YOUR-DOMAIN.com so that a viewer will
assume it is your own video channel.
This is particularly important if you are embedding videos
on your website as the domain URL will remain consistent
when a video is being viewed, rather than displaying a URL
containing https://www.zimovi.com.
Sub-domains are supported for white-labelling purposes, for
example if you have training and support sub-domains they
are included in the white labelling:
• https://www.TRAINING.YOUR-DOMAIN.com
• https://www.SUPPORT.YOUR-DOMAIN.com
White labelling implementation includes the installation and
configuration of a dedicated load balancer for your ZiMovi
channel on our back-end servers. This has a number of
benefits including:
• Inappropriate traffic is blocked which removes the risks
associated with sharing multiple load balancers
• Google will not associate your channel traffic with any other
traffic. A shared scenario means your channel could be
deemed inappropriate or detrimental by association. This
has been known to lead to domain blacklisting
• Any peaks and troughs in general traffic on shared load
balancers could be associated with your channel and reflect
negatively with Google

ZiMovi’s Data and Analytics features enable ZiMovi channel owners to calculate return on their video
investment by analysing viewer interaction data and sharing activities in real-time. Understand who
is watching your videos, where they sourced the video, how long they watched the video for, if they
shared the video and if so who to, are powerful tools to help you dynamically adapt and monitor
your marketing activities.
ZiMovi does not restrict any access or insights ensuring that you have all information including
who is watching, where they are watching from, when they are watching, how long for and on what
device. Whilst other platforms may look to monetise your data, ZiMovi believes your data is your
own and we will never give or sell this information to third parties.

Channel analytics are gathered from all the active videos on
the channel, displaying:
• Video interactions – contains general information on who is
viewing a video
• Video ads – displays information defining who watched
pre/post roll videos
• Call-to-action – identifies who clicked on a CTA and what
the click action was
• Share activities – shows who shared a video and by what
media the share was made
• Comparison – displays an interactive pie chart showing
share method analysis
• Timeline – highlights a pictorial analysis of videos viewings
with completion data
• Geolocation – visualises world map with videos viewing data

Use Cases
Data and Analytics is a standard feature included in all ZiMovi
subscriptions. Organisations with only a few viewings/videos
will find the built-in tabular displays sufficient. Organisations
with large viewing figures or a lot of videos will may analyse
the data externally using the .CSV export option or by direct
integration to the underlying data via our API.
Only ZiMovi allows you access to 100% of the data collected
via your channel video activities. We do not withhold any
‘personally identifiable’ information and we do not share your
data with any third parties.

ZiMovi has developed an automated comment and
response moderation tool to allow you to filter and approve
inappropriate comments or phrases in real time, before they
appear online, giving you peace of mind that your brand
and messages are secure and protected. Many organisations
choose to disable comments on other platforms as they
have no control over the content of comments that
are posted, this is not necessary with videos hosted on
ZiMovi. We will automatically and in real-time allow you
to moderate comments before they are made live on your
active videos.
Powered by Industry leaders Crisp Thinking, the ZiMovi
comment and response moderation tool automatically and
in real-time moderates comments posted to your active
videos. When a word or phrase matches an entry on the
blacklist, both the person posting the content and the
channel owner are notified that the comment has been
flagged for review. The channel owner can then review the
comment and choose to publish or delete it as required.

ZiMovi’s unique Remote Video Feedback enables a viewer to record a fixed length video answer to
a question on an Intelligent Questionnaire form. Once all questions are answered the questionnaire
is submitted and automatically uploaded to a channel where the answers can be viewed by the
channel owner and, if required, the video can be published to the channel.
The Remote Video Feedback feature is a part of the Intelligent Questionnaire functionality. It utilises
a specific question type called ‘Video Question’ which allows a viewer to answer a question with a
video clip. Unlike other platforms ZiMovi uses WebRTC functionality which does not require a
video-recording app to be downloaded to your device or desktop, the recording feature makes use
of the WebRTC (Web Real-time Communication) API that supports browser-to-browser applications
for voice calling, video chat and Peer to peer (P2P) file sharing without the need of either internal
or external plug-ins. This means a viewer can record and submit an answer using the technology
already built into their smart phone.

Feature Overview
When the viewer reaches a video question they have two
options regarding the video answers:
• Record answer – a window on the form shows the current
image being captured by the device camera. The viewer
is informed that they have XX seconds to record an answer
to the question after which they can review and accept, or
re-record the video
• Upload video – instead of recording a video a viewer can
choose to upload a video recorded earlier. No checking is
done on the length of uploaded videos

Multi-Channel Management and Content Distribution features enable a master channel to manage
and push content to sub-channels. These complementary features help organisations and ZiMovi
partners with multiple channels to administer and manage them and their associated content from
a single login. It also enables the master channel to roll-up the analytics from the sub-channels to
get a complete view of the analytics.
A multi-channel setup can also benefit from the content distribution feature to push video content

Pre or Post Roll Video actions allow ZiMovi channel owners
to monetize video content and actions. There are two main
ways to derive income from a video:
Add pre and/or post roll video adverts to the main video.
Whilst this is a common feature on most video platforms
although they do not let you specify the URL that the viewer
clicks through to. When you assign a pre-roll video we let
you set the number of seconds before the ‘Skip-ad’ button
appears and allow you to specify any URL for the click-through.
Collect opt-in personally identifiable viewer information for

embedded into the vSMS design so when people click on
the URL sent as a response to them texting 64446 ZIMOVI,
they will play the video and have access to any other vSMS
features that have been included in the vSMS design. Direct
SMS messages can be up to 160 characters, if your message
is longer we can join multiple SMS messages together.

Unlike other free platforms, which either do not allow CTAs or only allow links to a range of approved URLs, a ZiMovi CTA can include any URL enabling a wide range of possible actions when clicked on. A CTA is overlaid on a video at a chosen start point for a number of seconds, after which it fades out. It can be positioned anywhere on the screen, chosen from a set of pre-determined locations. It is possible to have multiple CTAs in a video and multiple CTAs on-screen simultaneously. A watermark is usually your organisation logo, a product or brand. There is one watermark per channel and you can choose on a per-video basis if you want to enable it. Typically a watermark is visible for the entire length of the video, a bit like the channel ident you see on the top left of your TV screen. Benefits ZiMovi CTAs are not restricted in the same manner as on other video platforms where you can only call a list of pre-defined URLs or go to your own website.
