1. Before entering
Most stores have closed doors. Usually those stores
have the main entrance from the outside. Stores who
are inside a mall are usually opened. All the stores
have big logos. Usually the logo itself doesn’t tell you
what you can find or buy in the store. I find opened
doors better because it makes me feel more
welcomed. If the store is inside a mall, they usually
have glassed walls. You can see the entire store.

2. Enviroment
All the stores I have visited have tiled floor. The store is
brightly lit, very spacious and the celling is very high. This
makes me feel very confortable and gives me a lot space to
move through the store. To make the feeling even better
they play some music in every store. In a supermarket you
can find the most popular products are at eye level. In
other stores you have to look for the best products. Most
stores have the cash register at the entrance/exit.
Personal
The average age of the personal is very young, mostly
female population. If the store is big than the personal is
easy to spot, because they have uniforms. The uniforms
match the store image. In smaller stores the personal takes
more time for you and they help you with your shopping
mission. They are not intrusive. They give you time if you
need it.
Products
All supermarkets have most popular products at eye level.
Those products are also affordably priced. They have big
signs telling you what products can be found on those
shelves. In a shoe store you have products arranged by
function.
Customers
Usually people go shopping in pairs. It seems like most
people follow the same direction. This has a lot to do with
the type of store. In a supermarket they almost lead you
through the whole store. In supermarkets people are more
familiar with the products and usually they don’t need a
lot of time to decide if they are going to buy the product
or not. If they are buying shoos ore clothes, people take
more time to decide if they are going to buy the product or
not. Usually they need a second opinion.
