NEW YORK, NY—May 13, 2015—Rue107 New York, distinguished for its celebration of every
woman's individual curves and sense of self-confidence, is proud to introduce "The New Nude"
collection, which redefines the very concept of flesh-toned fashion. Too long have mainstream
runways characterized "nude" in shades of cream and beige. On May 13th, "The New Nude" collection
broadens that spectrum to include cocoas and caramels so as to suit women of richer skin tones.
Inspired by the cafe-au-lait hue and geometric shape of an ice cream cone, Rue107 infuses the joyful
memories of summer ice cream with the sensuality of sharp, form-fitting silhouettes. In true Rue

Debuting with "The New Nude" are an assortment of crop tops, swimwear, and layered skirts. The tops
run the gamut from long-sleeved to capped short sleeves. No matter the length, they are all uniformly
body-contouring and curve-flaunting. The cocoa brown long-sleeve top can be styled a number of
whimsical ways, whether draped as a shawl-like cardigan on a windy summer's eve or creatively tied
as part of an eye-catching cocktail-hour ensemble. The cap-sleeved crop top, like many items from the
collection, features a honey-toned knit mesh layered over a cocoa-brown fabric. The two skirts in "The
New Nude" collection, both the pleated A-line and the circle skirt, use this motif to their advantage to
add a little extra texture and oomph to the look. Perhaps most singular yet, however, is the unique
swimwear in "The New Nude." The bikini tops, bottoms and one-pieces are just as versatile and easily

Rue107 is not alone in this current movement to open up the world of "nude." Christian Louboutin
recently released a collection of nude heels meant specifically for richer skin tones. Louboutin's new
arrivals include pumps and wedges in nudes that veer more toward caramel than light beige.
Furthermore, the bra and skin tone-hosiery company "Nubian Skin" was inspired by trailblazers like
Ebony founder Eunice W. Johnson and supermodel Iman to create nude unmentionables specifically
for women with darker skin tones.
