- Do keep images big:

- Do keep your video brief. 1-5 minutes is best


- Do remember that audio is very important


- Do include a call to action: phone, donate, click,
volunteer, etc.


- Do use humor if at all possible (!)


- Don’t clutter your message


- Don’t try to fit “everything” in

• Keep background simple, not too busy

• Several takes and “active directing” are fair game

• Look off-camera or into the camera?

• Interviewer questions & comments off-mic

• Get on-camera ID first

• Open-ended questions

• Prompt for sound bites

• No memorization allowed (!)

• Discrete answers. No run-ons.

• Vary focal length: Long shot, Medium Shot, Closeup (not over 35)
