Robin Meech
Robin Meech is Managing Director of Marine and Energy Consulting Ltd, an independent practice focusing on the
marine sector with an emphasis on the transport of energy where his responsibilities included managing the
purchasing of bunkers. He is co-author of “Outlook for Bunker Fuel Oil and Heavy Fuel Oil to 2035” to be published
this year and co-author of the book “Bunkers – An analysis of the Technical and Environmental Issues” published
last year. He is a member of the board of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA).
Chris Fisher
Chris has more than 35 years in the Marine Engineering industry. He is a qualified Marine Engineer with crude,
petroleum products and chemical cargo experience. He was previously with Texaco as a Marine Superintendent
for their Tanker Fleet, Consultant with Marine Consultancy Company and Director with DNV (Petroleum Services
Division) and The British Standards Institution (Inspection and Testing).

Bunkers for Managers is a comprehensive 5-day all-inclusive bunker industry management training course. The course is designed
principally for experienced bunker and shipping professionals in the industry as well as management trainees who are on an accelerated
learning path in the bunker and shipping sector.
This course combines both theoretical and practical aspects of the bunker industry, and gives the opportunity to interact with people at the
sharp end, while incorporating the latest industry developments and regulations in a factual but creative way. The course is intended to
sharpen skills and business understanding and to reduce the overall costs of bunkers for your business.
The 5 day course programme is divided into a mixture of theory and hands on experience, delegates will be given a complete guide to
bunkering; covering management issues, pricing and demand, understanding and complying with the latest and upcoming regulations,
proficiency of sampling, reducing bunker costs as well as analysis and fuel specifications. Strategic purchasing and negotiating skills are
included together with price and credit risk management as well as legal issues relating to bunker contracts, quality and quantity claims,
resolution of disputes and ship arrest.

ROBIN MEECH
Director, Marine & Energy Consulting & IBIA Board Member
Robin Meech is Managing Director of Marine and Energy Consulting Ltd, an independent practice focusing
on the marine sector with an emphasis on the transport of energy.
He has a particular interest in the bunker industry where he has undertaken assignments for a wide range of clients. He has a strong focus on
environmental issues having been involved with the development and assessing the impact of marine and bunker related regulations. The company’s
clients include the four Majors, the larger traders, independent suppliers, ship owners, refiners and terminal operators. He is keen to further improve
the skill base of participants in the industry having directed technical and managerial training events, specifically for the bunker business. He has been a
director of an independent tanker company where his responsibilities included managing the purchasing of bunkers. He is co-author of “Outlook for
Bunker Fuel Oil and Heavy Fuel Oil to 2035” to be published this year and co-author of the book “Bunkers – An analysis of the Technical and
Environmental Issues” published last year. He is a member of the board of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA).
CHRIS FISHER
Chris Fisher and his company Bunker Claims International Ltd (BCI) joined Brookes Bell in January 2011.
Chris served as Chief Engineer on Texaco Tankers and later as superintendent engineer with Texaco before
starting work as a surveyor & consultant specialising in liquid cargo and bunker quality disputes in 1984.
He worked as Regional Manager in Europe for DNV Petroleum Services, based in Rotterdam and then became Director of several BSI-Inspectorate
companies in Northern Europe. These companies provided independent Inspection and Certification services related to the sale and purchase of Oil and
Petrochemical cargoes. In 2003 Chris returned from Northern Europe to the United Kingdom to concentrate on running his own business "Bunker Claims
International Ltd" and in 2004 published his latest book on bunkers with his co-author Jonathan Lux of Ince & Co. In 2009 he was elected Chairman of
IBIA, The International Bunker Industry Association. He is a member of the Heavy Fuel Working Group of CIMAC and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine
Engineering, Science and Technology.

cancellation will be credited to a future ASIA EDGE PTE LTD event. This credit
will be available for up to one year from the date of issuance. In the event
that ASIA EDGE PTE LTD postpones an event, delegate payments at the
postponement date will be credited towards the rescheduled date. If the
delegate is unable to attend the rescheduled event, the delegate will receive
a 100% credit representing payments made towards a future ASIA EDGE PTE
LTD event. This credit will be available for up to one year from the date of

About Your Course Directors: ROBIN MEECH Director, Marine & Energy Consulting & IBIA Board Member Robin Meech is Managing Director of Marine and Energy Consulting Ltd, an independent practice focusing on the marine sector with an emphasis on the transport of energy. He has a particular interest in the bunker industry where he has undertaken assignments for a wide range of clients. He has a strong focus on environmental issues having been involved with the development and assessing the impact of marine and bunker related regulations. The company’s clients include the four Majors, the larger traders, independent suppliers, ship owners, refiners and terminal operators. He is keen to further improve the skill base of participants in the industry having directed technical and managerial training events, specifically for the bunker business. He has been a director of an independent tanker company where his responsibilities included managing the purchasing of bunkers. He is co-author of “Outlook for Bunker Fuel Oil and Heavy Fuel Oil to 2035” to be published this year and co-author of the book “Bunkers – An analysis of the Technical and Environmental Issues” published last year. He is a member of the board of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA). CHRIS FISHER Chris Fisher and his company Bunker Claims International Ltd (BCI) joined Brookes Bell in January 2011. Chris served as Chief Engineer on Texaco Tankers and later as superintendent engineer with Texaco before starting work as a surveyor & consultant specialising in liquid cargo and bunker quality disputes in 1984. He worked as Regional Manager in Europe for DNV Petroleum Services, based in Rotterdam and then became Director of several BSI-Inspectorate companies in Northern Europe. These companies provided independent Inspection and Certification services related to the sale and purchase of Oil and Petrochemical cargoes. In 2003 Chris returned from Northern Europe to the United Kingdom to concentrate on running his own business "Bunker Claims International Ltd" and in 2004 published his latest book on bunkers with his co-author Jonathan Lux of Ince & Co. In 2009 he was elected Chairman of IBIA, The International Bunker Industry Association. He is a member of the Heavy Fuel Working Group of CIMAC and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.
