                                           Don’t lose your hunting and fishing privileges
                                           If you commit a wildlife violation, you could lose the privilege of hunting and sh-
                                           ing in Utah. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources can sus-
                                           pend the license of anyone who knowingly, intentionally
                                           or recklessly violates wildlife laws. Your license can be
                                           suspended for a wildlife violation if:
                                               • You are convicted.
                                               • You plead guilty or no contest.
                                               • You enter a plea in abeyance.

OBTAINING PERMITS
     To harvest most furbearers, you only need a furbearer license. If you want to hunt or trap
bobcat or marten, however, you’ll need an additional permit. This section describes how to
obtain bobcat and marten permits.

     Several rules govern furbearer hunting and trapping in Utah. These rules exist to help
keep you safe and to ensure an ethical hunt. Please be familiar with the requirements for
safely using trapping devices and firearms. You should also know the different types of hunt-
ing methods you may use and what you’re required to do with any furbearer you harvest.
