2. The double page spread of Q magazine
is noticeable by the colour of the
background and the watermark. The
big L on the screen is designed to aid
the central image, Lady Gaga. Q uses
this as an addition to the Q they would
have referencing themselves. You could
argue that the magazine sets out to
either show danger or romance, judging
by the body posture Lady Gaga
presents you could suggest she is being
sexy.
On the left Lady Gaga is staring directly
into the camera connoting that she is
attempting to be sexy, her hands are
over her breast however she hardly has
clothes on adding to the idea she is
trying to be sexy.
3. The target audience for
this page would be
someone who is
interested in Hip Hop. 50
Cent in the central image
on the right posing to look
like a threat. This can be
connoted as him showing
signs of rebellion, an
attribute commonly seen
in hip hop.
Contrastingly we can
obverse that everything is
white, a colour of purity,
this could denote that he
is in actuality clean, and
the only reason he would
be rebellious is due to his
struggle, referencing back
to struggling.
The title evidently uses
phrases of a hip hop nature,
the slang word ‘hustling’ is
known to be a word that
describes the struggle to
become better, in this case
better would mean obtain
riches.
The central image contains
conventions of how he
would be wealthy, he is
wearing a chain that is
known to be a sign of
money.
The colours also remain
similar to front cover of
the magazine maintain
the conventions of the
magazine.
4. The central image
conveys an image that is
designed to inform the
audience what the
content of the double
page spread will be. In
this case we would
suggest it is to do with a
rapper who goes by the
name Wiz Khalifa.
The headline is his initial.
Considering gold is
featured a lot we as an
audience have a mental
idea of his wealth.
We could also suggest
that he is the main focus
considering his initials are
the biggest feature on
the page.
We can denote that there is
Wiz Khalifa on the left, this
image connotes that he is a
hip hop artist judging by the
smoke right by his face,
suggesting he was smoking,
a rebellious action usually
performed by gangsters.
This could link to the
audience by giving them a
idea of what to dress like or
what to wear.
The layout is evidently neat and
understandable regardless of
the fact it is a hip hop
magazine. This is set out in a
way to make it easier for the
audience top understand what
is being presented.
5. The double page spread uses three main
colours, red black and white, these colours
add to the genre considering rock is a
dark genre it relates to it quite easily, the
colour red is seen as a sign of danger,
relating to what the band could
potentially be.
The image is a man looking to the ground,
it connotes a man in a rock band listening
back to the band, they are multiple
pictures that aid the idea of a band
playing, for example there is a man on a
microphone singing on the bottom left.
The title on this page would connote
that they are the best ‘mcr’ this would
be a vain way of saying they are, this
is a harsh way claiming their position
following the conventions of rock.
The layout is evidently professional
considering it has all that is required
to gain further information on the
band or magazine.
It links to the beginning of the
magazine by maintain a distorted
patter.
