2. EVENT COORDINATION EXPERIENCE
Planned a non-profit event:
As a class we had to come up with an event to do a social good for the
community.
We planned a Dog Show where we had to invite people who had dogs to
come participate in. In order for them to enter their dog into the dog show
they had to provide an item to give to the local dog pound (dog food, toys, cat
litter, etc.)
As a class we had to find a location for the Dog Show, get donations to fund
the supplies that were needed for the event, promote and make a facebook
page for the event, and also coordinate and work the event.
Planned a non-profit Event:
For my Communication in Communities class we had to coordinate an event
for the veterans.
I was in charge of the communication and coordination with the veterans
that would be performing in the event. This included keeping contact with
them, receiving their bios, and also seeing what they would need to perform
in the event.
It was held at a local coffee shop in town. In this event veterans came and
told stories and sang songs to express what they went through. It was a great
success.
