PrivacyOS is a thematic network for privacy protection
infrastructur within the current European Commission´s
ICT Policy Support Programme
• Start date: June 1st, 2008
• Duration: 24 Months
• 16 partners from Government, Academia, Enterprise
and SMEs are participating
• 4 conferences over 2 years, co-located with relevant
other events

their enforcement and propagation
• facilitates the emergence of an open
Europe-wide eServices market with
dynamic service composition across
different privacy policy regimes
• Gives the opportunity to exchange
research and best practises, as
well as develop strategies and
joint projects

• Understanding virtualisation, categorisation and social

6. Objectives of
PrivacyOS
• PrivacyOS brings together industry, SMEs, Government, Academia and Civil
Society to foster development and deployment of privacy infrastructures for
Europe
• Facilitate the emergence of an open Europe-wide eServices market with
dynamic service composition across different privacy policy regimes
• allow users to define privacy profiles, and to monitor and control their
enforcement and propagation
• Exchange research and best practises, as well as develop strategies and joint
projects following four core policy goals: Awareness-rising, enabling privacy on
the web, fostering privacy-friendly Identity Management and stipulating
research.
