The world history lesson which I liked the best
                              The social and political revolution
                                               in
                                      Europe and America

I chose this topic because this lesson really caught my attention because for me the contents of
this lesson are very interesting. Imagine a king marrying 6 times and two were annulled, two were
executed and he also passed an act which allowed the king to be the head of the church. A queen
who was so devoted to Catholicism she even ordered the persecution and burning of all the
protestants, a virgin queen, a puritan leader who banned everything fun, chaos in England and a
king who loved to party.

The victory of Henry Tudor in the war of roses ushered the beginning of the Tudor Dynasty. On
his death Henry the VIII ascended the throne his desire for a male heir prompted him to divorce his
first wife Catherine of Aragon. His only surviving daughter Mary I was a devout catholic persecuted
and burned English Protestants. She was called Bloody Mary. After her death Elizabeth I the last
Tudor monarch succeeded her throne she was called “The virgin Queen” For she never married again
after Elizabeth’s death James VI of Scotland succeeded the throne. James is the first Stuart King.
After his death Charles I ascended the throne like his father he spent extravagantly. A civil war broke
out in England called the Puritan Revolution This conflict divided the people into two the Cavaliers or
Royalists who were loyal to the king and the Parliamentarians or the Roundheads. The roundheads
won the King was tried, found guilty and beheaded. Therefore Cromwell decided to take over and got
the title “Lord Protector” he was so strict that he banned almost everything fun including Christmas.
After his death England was in chaos. The reign of Charles the II was called the restoration period or
the return of the monarchy. He was a Merry monarch and loved to party.

American revolution began when the British government sent troops to Boston. The English
settlers called themselves The Americans they Established 13 colonies.
in 1773 English imposed taxes on tea which the Americans didn’t like They protested and dumped all
the tea cargo at Boston harbor.
