1. HOME, Inc. ("Here-in Our Motives Evolve") is a 30 year-old non-profit organization that was founded to develop the talents of inner city teenagers, youth organizations and schools in media and communication.

3. Our Programs Goals & Objectives: 1. Use media analysis to improve young people’s decision making skills and personal development. 2. Encourage youth to discover their creativity. 3. Help young people create powerful messages through media-based projects. 4. Develop teaching methods that promote teamwork and fun. 5. Improve student’s educational experience by enabling them to understands media messages and their influence on youth and the community.
4. We’ve created an on-line learning environment that provides a distinctly different learning experience from the traditional drill and grill of typical technology programs. In our program each lab has it’s own closed depository for projects that are created in a collaborative on line workspace where students research, create scripts, storyboards, lesson plans, and media.

6. Media Lab Coordinators work with HOME, Inc. staff and the administrators at their assigned school and after school programs to teach students’ 21 st century media literacy skills and to produce media content that is based on their own personal experiences. Media Lab Coordinator

8. Teen TV During the summer, Media Lab Coordinators work with our Teen TV Program. Teen TV provides a summer work experience for Boston area teens. Summer interns receive training and experience in television production, digital field production and multimedia. They research, write, direct and produce 30-minute magazine style format news shows that are shown on a variety of community access stations across the country.
9. Media Lab Intern The Media Lab Intern will be assigned to a middle school or high school and will work in the classrooms during school or in the after school program with our lab instructors for ten hour or more hours per week for a minimum of one semester. Besides being a general aid to to the lab instructors, interns will work with students in groups and one-on-one and help them envision and create their various projects during the course of the semester.
10. Media Mentors Program The aim of our program is to connect high school students enrolled in one our media studies classes with a working professional or college student. Besides providing emotional support and friendship, mentors can also help students clarify life goals particularly as it relates to post secondary education and career paths in media.
11. What is a Mentor? Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentee.
