How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
1. How did you use media
technologies in the
construction and
research, planning and
evaluation stages?
2. Planning
OISSUU
During the planning process of my short film I used
the online software ‘issuu’. This website helped me
display my films script so that it mimicked the action
on flipping through the pages. By using this it not only
makes my planning look visually more interesting and
professional but also made it easier to send my actor
a copy of the script over the internet aswell as in
person.
3. Planning
OInfogr.am
I have used the software ‘infogr.am’ to create and
present the statistics that I gathered from my
questionnaire for my audience research. This
website was very useful and easy to use to create a
colourful and unique way to show, potentially
confusing, statistics in an simple way.
4. Planning
OVimeo & Youtube
I have used both ‘vimeo’ and ‘YouTube’ to view existing media
products while I was brainstorming different ideas and finding
the different conventions used in short films. I have used
‘YouTube’ many times before and so I am very comfortable and
familiar with the website, however I had never used ‘vimeo’
before. Luckily the website was very easy to navigate and I
was able to find the video I was looking for quickly and easily. I
also used both of these websites in when creating my
evaluations. I used them to share 2 of my evaluation questions
by uploading them and embedding the code onto my blog.
5. Construction
ODSLR camera & tripod
I have used DSLR camera’s and
tripod’s many times before and so I
am very familiar with how to use
them efficiently and effectively.
These technologies worked
extremely well to help ensure that
my products looked professional. I
also used both of these when
creating an evaluation question. I
used the camera and tripod to
record myself answering an
evaluation question so that the
quality would good.
6. Construction
O InDesign and Photoshop
Photoshop and InDesign are software’s that over the
past 2 years I have become very familiar with and so
I felt confident when approaching the task of
creating a film poster and film review. I feel as
though I have used these softwares to my full
advantage by experimenting with many different
layouts, colour schemes and effects to create
something that I am proud of. Specifically I used
Photoshop to edit all of the images that appear on
my poster and review and also to actually create my
film poster.
7. Construction
OFinal Cut Pro and iMovie
Previously I have used Final Cut Pro to
edit videos however I had no
experience in working with iMovie. It
took me a while to get used to the
controls and navigate my way around
iMovie however when I finally got to
grasp with the software I found that I
could use it almost as efficiently as
Final Cut Pro. I not only used these
software’s to edit my short film but I
also used them to edit 2 of my
evaluation questions. In the end I feel
that the editing of my film and
evaluation questions are effective and
look professional.
8. Evaluation
OSlideshare
I have used Slideshare to present my evaluation
questions that have been created using the
programme PowerPoint. I found from creating my
AS coursework last year that it was a very easy
and effective website to share presentations.
9. Evaluation
OPowtoon
One of my peer’s recommended the website ‘Powtoon’
to present information and ideas in a fun and unique
way. I immediately loved the website and really enjoyed
creating animations to fit with my evaluation question.
The only problem I encountered was the fact that at
many times I found it extremely difficult to navigate my
way around the website. I feel that I produced the best I
could and used the website to my advantage as my
evaluation question now looks unique and interesting to
watch.
