- My name is John Davies from the University of Sussex. Going to talk about one aspect of the JISC funded SkillClouds Project that I’m co-leading with Carol Shergold, who is here today. Other colleagues on the project are Stuart Lamour (technical development) and Judith Good who is a consultant on the project. The idea for the SkillClouds project came from a strategic objective to make the skills that students develop on their degree more accessible. We wanted to explore whether the principles of tag clouds and social bookmarking could be used to make skills more apparent and relevant to students We secured funding from JISC under the U&I programmes to undertake this work and are members of the EMERGE community that was formed to support projects in this strand. In the context of this talk, the perspectives in the title are the university/course designers/staff with responsibility for taking forward the skills agenda at the institutional level and the student sat the individual level
