Welcome to Colorado and I will say I’m a proud native and resident of this beautiful state. I also want to state that speaking to this strand, Beyond the Institution resonates well with me particularly because I appreciate to share information and have others share information with me. And this is really how it begins, by going beyond your own boundaries and sharing what has worked or not worked with others, so you and they have an opportunity to benefit and grow from the experiences at hand.
To give you a since of who our affiliate institutions are, we are…
As you can see most of our institutions follow the I-25 corridor, collectively again, we are 13 colleges with a number of extension campus’ and CCCOnline. CCCOnline supports the campuses, faculty, and students with student services and training, to name a few.
Other Educational drivers in the state are the Colorado Commission on HE, which pushed forward the GT25 pathways. Supported by the CCCS Numbering system, provides state standards for outcomes in each courses allowing us to have articulation agreements with all the State 4 yr colleges. We also are driven by legislative mandates that I will discuss more in detail, but basically outline one CCCS LMS, a new SIS – Banner and at the bottom of the list a student driven textbook mandate. These impact us both historically and at our present time…
History of CCCOnline, We were formed out of legislation mandate, a vision by our system president at that time. We were named CCCOnline in 2000 as a reflection of our new focus supporting Online learning.
Our substantial growth rate and low-overhead keeps projecting upwards. We started with 3 employees and which grew to about 12 by 2000, and now we have a 21+ full time and part time employees. While we were leveling out about 10% each semester this last few semesters has been upwards toward 25%, which is I believe a reflection of the economy. This also makes us an important revenue stream for our system, allowing us to help pay for the new LMS, Banner, and other system wide licensing needed at all colleges in our system for DE.
CCCOnline is unlike any other multi-campus online consortium because we are not a degree granting institution, we are an accredited organization through NW Commission on HE. We support and share in areas of faculty training and student services We also serve as an aggregate for low-enrollment classes across the system, allowing students to complete degrees and cert. programs Other centrally supported operations include the following…
HB1086 pushed into needing to collaborate more substantially with each other and to share our ideas, we needed to move online and hybrid courses at every school, CCCOnline had 250+ courses alone, but collectively ran into the thousands system wide, with some campuses offering a hybrid format for each course. We started out with about 1 rep per college and CCCOnline w/ 3 and today we have 21 total with 5 at CCCOnline.
Here again is a listing of the most significant resources that have cultivated for our system thorough the collaboration of the LTC…
More so, LTC has benefited our students with consistent learning experiences and faculty with consistent training. Also prioritizing budget expenditures for licensing and a 24/7 Helpdesk.
Here is my email address and other institutions that I have named in this presentation, if you would like to research further, information about our processes. I have also brought a copy of our 10 year annual report from 2008, which also describes CCCOnline to a further degree. Thanks for being here today.
