TARGET AUDIENCE Chrissie Bishop
AGE AND GENDER
My target audience is aimed at a large audience of 16-34 year old men and
women. I believe that people within this age range are more engaged with
music, especially upcoming artists opposed to older generations who seem
to lean more towards popular and well known musicians. Also, the younger
generation are heavily influenced by the social media, and tend to spend the
majority of their time online using social networking platforms like Twitter,
Facebook and YouTube. It will also cater to adults as it will feature a formal
lexis and mode of address as it is a very chic, professional and classy
magazine. I think that more men will read my magazine than women as the
conventions are more suited towards men.
SOCIAL CLASS
My target audience varies from young adults to mature adults within the
social class of ABC1 so it caters to a lot of people. I have chosen these
social classes because they fit within the style of the magazine; it is a very
professional magazine and is based solely on honest, trustworthy and
reliable reviews in contrast to a music magazine crammed with gossip,
therefore more business-minded people are more likely to read it than
people who fit within a lower social class.
INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
The typical individual of this audience tends to follow the latest trends and
keep up with new styles and upcoming artists as well as popular artists too,
which are all big features that I would like to highlight in my magazine. They
are also keen followers of the new media, engaging in social networking,
online gaming and always keeping up to date with the latest technology and
gadgets as they have the money to afford them. They are extroverted people
and enjoy going out with friends and socializing.
