1. What Is Bail
I posted bail for my sister about a month and half ago and since, her charges have been
dropped. Can anybody tell me if I am entitled to a refund or what happens to the money. Does
the bails bondsman keep it or is he suppose to return it? I live in TX and I don't know if it is the
same everywhere. I was so glad to find this — You used a bails bond . . So, say bail was set at
$10,000 , you go to said bails bonds person, post bail with them, but what you are really doing
is giving them money to post bail with the state. You only pay a percentage of the ten grand to
the bails bonds and they "put" up the rest along with your collateral. Understand so far? You
paid say ten percent of ten grand , $1000. They keep that, that is their FEE for the service you
just got, why? Because you did not have $10,000 to begin with, that is why you went to a bails
bond. You do not get it back. This is from personal experience by the way P
