  1. Dr Dalal Akoury, MD is the founder of AWAREmed and the director of the Wellness U program at Cinzia the Spa at North Beach Plantation. Dr Akoury is board certified in anti-aging functional and regenerative medicine, as well as having accumulated more than twenty years of experience in emergency medicine and pediatrics, and a master’s degree in public health. Dr Akoury has also served fellowships in pediatric hematology/oncology and preformed research in leukemia and the effects of smoking. This lifetime of experience, along a unique sensitivity, genuine compassion, and a driving passion to inspire health in everyone, has prepared “Dr Dolly” to be in this place at this time. About developing her dream, AWAREmed and Wellness U, Dr Akoury says, “my mission is to ignite the spark of health deep within everyone, and to allow this sparkle of wellness to shine through everyone’s eyes, becoming one with the universe, and aligning body, mind, and spirit.”-----------------------------------------------------------------------Chance Diebold earned a degree of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College in Tempe, AZ. She also holds a BS degree in psychology from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in public health (MPH) from Walden University, and is a trained hypnotherapist and Reiki Master-Teacher. A writer, editor, and researcher on various topics, Dr Diebold has a particular interest in global health, individual environmental detoxification, psychological health, psychoneuroimmunology, and mind-body medicine, and her work has appeared in both popular print and industry journals. Dr Diebold is a recognized speaker on a variety of topics in natural health enhancement, preventative medicine, and psychological health, and she actively educates doctors, businesses, and the public on the benefits of healthy living, wise lifestyle choices, and the integration of mind, body, and spirit.  Dr Diebold says, “My focus in medicine is to bring individual people into balance, uniting mind, body, and spirit. By using the most natural and least invasive methods possible, people will find that they can live long, active, healthy lives, achieving a personal state of optimal health.” Dr Diebold’s practice emphasizes mental and emotional wellness, and is also involved in supportive treatment of chronic conditions, graceful aging, and environmental detoxification and allergy management.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tiffany
  2. This is an introduction to AWAREmed’s Lifestyle 101. We will touch on each topic within our Four Pillars program, guide you through the personal goal setting process, and provide the tools you need to live a healthy and balanced life. After this three week introduction, we invite you to join one of the groups now forming to become involved in the full six-week Lifestyle 101 program.
  3. ADD NAMES
  4. Break! Every few minutes we will stop talking and start moving … we may take a short exercise break, a meditative moment, or enjoy the pleasure of a bite or two of whole, organic food.
  5. HANDOUT INCLUDED
  6. In the body, the antioxidant process is similar to an apple turning brown. That browning is oxidation, just like what happens in the body. Once you cut an apple, it begins to brown, but if you dip it in orange or lemon juice - which contains vitamin C – the apple stays white and fresh.
  7. Time for a break!
  8. An acidic pH can occur from, an acid forming diet, emotional stress, toxic overload, and/or immune reactions or any process that deprives the cells of oxygen and other nutrients.  The body will try to compensate for acidic pH by using alkaline minerals.  If the diet does not contain enough minerals to compensate, a build up of acids in the cells will occur. An acidic balance will  decrease the body's ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients, decrease the energy production in the cells, decrease it's ability to repair damaged cells, decrease it's ability to detoxify heavy metals, make tumor cells thrive, and make it more susceptible to fatigue and illness.  A blood pH of 6.9, which is only slightly acidic, can induce coma and death.
  9. COULD BE USED AS A BREAK EXERCISE
  10. Please see one of our staff members after class or call if you have any questions. See you next time!
