speech and language to create a
valentines day poem.

2. Simile
• A simile is a figure of speech that directly
compares two things, usually by employing
the words “like” or “as”.
For example:
“Love is like a red red rose”

3. Metaphor
• A metaphor compares two objects by saying
that one object is another one.
For example:
“Love is a tree with many branches”

4. Personification
• Personification is when you give a thing or an
object human traits.
For example:
“Love whispers in your ear”

5. Rhyme
• When things rhyme they have the same
sound.
For example:
“Love is fine, it happens all the time”
