1. Christ came as ManAssignment 1

3. and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God.

4. He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

5. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own,[c] and His own[d] did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

6. 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

7. “The Word” Is another name for Christ. Prior to any beginning , Christ was there. Christ himself was without beginning, He is Eternal. As the Son of God, He existed with the Father before time and before creation. Christ was with God: this tells us that He is a separate person. He is God, without beginning and without end.

8. “All things were made by Him” All creation is ascribed to Christ, and this only proves once again that He is God. Colossians 1: 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

9. “The World did not know Him” Christ created the world , but when He came to earth. He was unrecognized, ignore and resisted.

10. “His own did not receive Him” His Own refers to Israel, the people of God. They had been trained to know God for many generations. They rejected Him in spit of their knowledge.

11. “But as many as received Him” To those who receive Him, Believe on Him as Savior- then and now, is given the right to become “SONS OF GOD”

12. “Which were born…of God” Those who receive Christ: Are born again, this is a spiritual birth, it is not of blood, it does not come like the one from the parents. It is “not of the will of flesh” the person’s own self-will. It is “not of the will of man” the new birth does not come by the help of friends or the preacher. The new birth is entirely of GOD, accomplished by the Holy Spirit in the life of each of one who hears the Word of God and receives the Savior JESUS CHRIST.

13. “The Word was made flesh” Christ became a man when He was born in Bethlehem. Christ did not just live in a man, He became a man in the fullest sense, but He never ceased to be what He was from all eternity “GOD”

14. “And we beheld His Glory” As we think of His glory let us remind ourselves that it comes before us in personal, moral, and official features. When we speak of personal glory, we think of who He is; when we think of moral glory, we think of His character, His conduct, His ways; when we speak of official glory, we think of the positions He fills. What wonderful light and glory was seen in the life and works of this God-man As the only begotten Son of the Father, He reveled the “Grace and Truth” of GOD.

15. “Behold! The Lamb of GOD…” In the Old Testament , the Jews offered lambs to God as sin offering . They were looking forward to the day when Christ , the “Lamb of God” would come, die for their sins and “take away” sin. Christ’s death was a sin offering for the whole world. Now we are instructed to look unto Jesus and be saved from all Sin.
