Work #1c , “ Secession Debate ” 1)  Read the 2 sides, choose 1 side, and write which you choose and  explain   why . 2)  Then write down what your partner thinks ( include their  name  at the end ). 1    2   3  4  5 CON: People can only secede when there has been gross abuses by the gov for a long time 1) Gov makes mistakes, but it’s like a marriage, you work it out. 2) Gov doesn’t need confidence, it can rule through fear (punishment) PRO: If a super majority of a region’s people (like over 75%) want to secede from the gov, they can 1) Gov is a K, like a biz deal, we don’t like the service, we go find new one 2) Gov needs the confidence of its ppl

Class Beliefs 3)  Be your true self.  Learn and acknowledge  who other people truly are.
Class Beliefs 4)  Challenge ideas, not the messenger.  Never stop questioning!
Class Beliefs 5)  Ask for help,  accept help,  offer help.  Be inclusive,  leave no one out.  .
Class Beliefs 6)  Be responsible,  you affect others. If you lose someone’s trust, earn it back.
