The Phoenix Mars Lander was launched in August 2007 and landed successfully on Mars in May 2008. It discovered evidence of past water on Mars, including clay minerals formed through water interaction with rocks. These findings provided new insights about the possibility of Mars once having environmental conditions favorable for life. The Lander continued making discoveries until losing power in November 2008 as winter arrived at its landing site.
