This document summarizes research on developing a nano-ceria reinforced epoxy polymer composite with improved mechanical properties. Nano-ceria particles around 10-20nm in size were synthesized and added in varying weight percentages to an epoxy resin matrix. Composite samples containing 0-3% nano-ceria by weight were tested. Flexural strength increased 42% for the 0.25% nano-ceria sample, while compressive strength increased 42.7% for the 0.5% sample. Microhardness also improved with 1% nano-ceria.
