The employability means a
person can be engaged by the
market for his skills for a
gainful employment to the
Industry. So the skills which
are required by the market
are to be imparted to the
students through various
pedagogical techniques. Since
new skills are required
accordingly the new
techniques are to be
developed for imparting
these skills. Pedagogy which
is to be deployed may
depend upon the various
factors e.g. age, economic
background, profile of family,
social background etc of the
students. So it is difficult to
design a course content that
can serve the very purpose of
imparting the knowledge to a
group of students, the same
pedagogy may not be
effective. Employability
covers a broad range of non-
academic or softer skills and
abilities which are of value in
the workplace. It includes the
ability to work in a team; a
willingness to demonstrate
initiative and original
thought; self-discipline in
starting and completing tasks
to deadline.

they have to take

Relationship, and manage the
Resources, so that the desired
Results are achieved. Thus we
impart 3R (Reading, Writing,
Rationality) but outcome has
to be in 4R (Responsibility,
Relationship, Resources,
Results). This 7R model may
be building block for
enhancement of
employability of the students.
If the journey from
knowledge to skill is to be
traveled within college
campus, the employability of
the students is much
improved. The journeys of
learning starts from analyze,
synthesize and evaluate
information which in turn
builds long term ability to
learn.
The ability to learning
means to adapt to the
environment which is
one of the skill of
employability &
survival. In general most
of the class room
teaching develops the
students up to analyze
only. The cycle of
learning can be initiated
through deliberations on
case studies, organizing
& participation in the
seminars conferences,
involvement of students
in managing the
placement cell, Hostel
management, cafeteria
management, safety &
security management.
This involvement will
pave the way for
initiating the journey
from Knowledge to Skill
set.
