3. A Description of My Family
• My family is very small. I grew up overseas with my
brother and father until I turned 13 and came to the
states to live with my grandmother. Unfortunately she
is no longer with us so my family now consists of my
fiancé, who happens to be my best friend, and our
animals. Marley is the bunny, she’ll be 3 next month.
Keto is the one wearing the Santa hat, she is the most
spoiled cat around, well actually all of the animals are
really spoiled lol. She found her way to our doorstep
about three years ago now, she is about 5. Lastly we
have Sinatra, well we call him Frank, he is almost 2!! He
is the sweetest little thing at times.

5. Where I Am and Where I Came From
• I grew up in Carlentini Sicily, Italy. I lived there
from the time I was 18 months old until I was 11.
I loved living in Sicily!!! The beaches and the food
would have to be what I miss most. My uncle
owns a vineyard that is actually on Mt. Etna, it’s
the mountain shown in the previous slide. When I
was 11, I had the opportunity to live in Sembach,
Germany briefly before they shut the base down.
• Now I live in Louisville Kentucky! I love it here,
the weather is perfect most of the time and there
is always something to do downtown.

6. Job History
• I haven’t really worked that much, being 22 I haven’t had many jobs. I
have worked in sales at places like The Limited and in tanning salons like
Sun Tan City.
• I have had several restaurant jobs. I was a hostess at O’Charley’s for a brief
period of time, this is where I met my fiancé actually, he was a server
while I hosted. 
• I was a Kitchen Manager for about two years at a very busy restaurant at
the local mall, I received this promotion at the age of 20!!!
• In my free time I tutor people in Spanish. I love teaching and cultures so I
figured that’s a great way to bring in some extra cash as well as get some
experience of handling different people’s learning styles!!
• I am currently a baker at the Cheesecake Factory, but am looking for
something in my career field. Preferably working with toddlers or infants
in a daycare center in the area.

7. Educational and Professional Goals
• My educational goes are to get my bachelor's
degree through Ashford University, once this is
done I will transfer to the University of
Louisville to pursue my Master’s in Education.
I have always wanted to be a Kindergarten
teacher so that is what I am going to try to
pursue first. But if that doesn’t work out I
would love to open up my own daycare center.
My fiancé would be in charge of the menu and
meal planning, he is a chef.

8. Socialization
• I believe the biggest factors in a child’s
socialization process are the family members
and the teachers. They are the biggest
influences in a child’s life until they are old
enough to start making friends and decisions
on their own.
• Socialization is basically how we learn to act as
humans around other humans.
