This document provides step-by-step instructions for setting up a blog on edublogs.org. It guides the user through creating an account, choosing a username and blog domain name, activating the blog via email, logging in, and viewing the basic blog homepage. It notes that the default blog will have a generic theme and auto-generated post that can later be customized.

1. Setting up a blog @edublog.org With Thomas Part 1 Hi Ya all!!! This is a step by step slideshow that will take you through the process Cool and Calm!!

2. Go to www.edublogs.org Look at a video about what Edublogs is and that will give you an overview of what is on offer!! Here is 10 ways of how you can use blogs to teach Read a few of the teacher blogs to see how teachers are using blogs in real life!! Are you ready???? Steady??? GOOOOOOOO….sign up for free!!

3. Fill in your username. Make it something that you can remember Use this option if you only want to be able to comment on other edu-bloggers’ blogs Make sure that you will have access to your e-mail box. You will receive an activation link via e-mail and will have to activate by clicking on it before you will be able to use your blog!!! thomas123 [email_address] 7722 Copy this exactly- it checks that you are human!! Hit it Baby!!!! 

5. Sometimes the blog domain name that you chose, has already been taken.  Don’t panic!! Just choose another one!! learn2blogwiththomas Hit it Baby!!!!  If you fill in something incorrectly, it will always take you back to the previous screen and highlight the incorrect entry in pink

6. Sign into your e-mail inbox and wait for your activation e-mail to arrive…… Lam tie dam tie dam… I am waiiiiiting

7. To activate your blog, please click the following link: http://learn2blogwiththomas.edublogs.org/wp-activate.php?key=77aa1518c5124243 After you activate, you will receive *another email* with your login. After you activate, you can visit your blog here: http://learn2blogwiththomas.edublogs.org/ Finally!!!! Click on this link to activate your blog After activation you will get a screen with your username and password Copy your password (highlight  CTRL  C) And then Click on Login Jippeeee

8. Sign into your site with this username and password. MMMM I must remember to go and change my password later… Copy your password (highlight  CTRL  C) And then click on this link Username: thomas123 Password: 30de53

9. Sign into your site with your username and password. DO you remember that you copied your password? Now just go CTRL  V (Or right-click and paste) Hit it Baby!!!!  If you are working on your own computer that only you use, tick this one…but if you are on a school PC, DON’T thomas123 ae9716

10. Cool Dashboard! Just look at all the things I can do!!! But 1 st let me change my password!!!

11. You now have a choice to update your profile… Remember to only give out information you feel comfortable to share.. So why do I have to change my password?? Well, you will neeeever remember the password they send you….choose something you will remember!! ************ ************ Click here…

13. Your blog will have a generic theme with a system generated 1 st post “Hello World”and a comment In the next “thomaszode” you will learn how to “customize” your blog with your own pages, custom heading, categories, blogroll and more…. Hey what is this?? I never wrote a post….!!!
