2. GENERAL WEATHER IN WINTER
In winter the weather is
mild.
It sometimes rains or the
sky is cloudy. It rarely
snows and usually in
interior places, like it
happened last week (1st
photo). But when spring
comes the temperatures
are higher, 20º to 30º in
the day.
3. MURCIA IN SUMMER
In summer it´s very
hot. We can have
around 40ºC and
even more at midday.
The monthly
averages in June,
July, August and
September are
above 21 º C.
4. The “Mar Menor”:
The Minor Sea is a lagoon or a saltwater lagoon of
the Mediterranean Sea, located in the Region of
Murcia, in Spain. This is the largest lagoon in Spain
and has environmental values to be protected as
tourism is its main economic activity.
5. La Manga:
La Manga del Mar Menor is a coastal strip of 21 km
long that extends from Cabo de Palos to the
natural park of Las Salinas in San Javier.
6. Cabo de Palos:
It is located in the
municipality of Cartagena in
the Murcian region. The
town of Cabo de Palos,
originally a fishing village, is
now primarily a resort town
known for its gastronomy
(particularly for his
"caldero", a local recipe
made with rice and fish of
the area, particularly mere)
and a destination for diving.
7. San Pedro del Pinatar:
San Javier is a Spanish
municipality in the
Region of Murcia.
Located on the shores
of the Mediterranean
and the Mar Menor.
North of town is the
natural park of Las
Salinas y Arenales de
San Pedro del Pinatar.
8. Salinas of San Pedro del Pinatar:
The Salinas y Arenales de
San Javier is a protected
area of the Region of
Murcia. It is a wetland with
sand located in the
northern part of the Mar
Menor. Inside the protected
area there is a port and salt
mines in operation. In
summer the beaches are
quite crowded, and there is
a tradition of mud baths.
