This animate was adapted from a talk given at the RSA by Sir Ken Robinson,
world-renowned education and creativity expert. This video is not “CLIL specific”
but touches on a number of important themes in modern day education. Some
of the questions are complicated…feel free to answer in Spanish (the video is
available on youtube in Spanish if need be)
1) What age group and subject do you teach? Do you feel that your students “don’t see
the point” of going to school?
2) Does a university degree in Spain ‘guarantee’ getting a good job?
3) Do you agree that the modern day school system divides students into two groups –
those who are academic (smart) and those who are non-academic (not smart)?
4) According to Ken Robinson does education have a positive or negative effect on
divergent thinking?
5) Does he feel that groupwork and collaboration are important? Do you? Why? Why
not?
6) How do we prepare our students to take their place in the 21st Century?
7) Any additional comments?
Extra:
This documentary in Spanish called “La Educación Prohibida” (link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsJC5WybRQM) is NOT part of the course but if
you would like to watch all of part of the film and let us know your opinion, fantastic.
The first ten minutes bring up some interesting points about evaluation and the
modern day school system. There are a variety of different views on education in the
film and you needn’t agree with everything by any means but was there anything you
were impacted by or that made you think?
