I've been known to be one of the world's loneliest people.
Like a branch floating in a river,
the days just seem to drift on by.
Has the world forgotten all it's lonely people.
It's hard to believe when darkness turns each morning into night.
It seems that I've been waiting forever for someone to show me what's right.
Chorus
Does anybody listen to the cries of all the lonely people?
Why do people pretend to be deaf and blind?
When all we need is to listen to our hearts and open both eyes.
We need to teach our children what's right.
Isn't this the true meaning of life?
End Chorus
I've seen so many cold and hungry people, standing in line for food and shelter each night.
My time has come so near.
Why do we turn and face the other way when other's needs are so much?
Any hope I had for the world has died.
Is this how God wants us to treat his lonely people?
The days seem so long without someone to love.
Chorus
Does anybody listen to the cries of all the lonely people?
Why do people pretend to be deaf and blind?
When all we need is to listen to our hearts and open both eyes.
We need to teach our children what's right.
Isn't this the true meaning of life?
End Chorus
Why has the world become so lonely and so dark?
If we want our children to be kind to lonely people, we must teach them to be kind from the start.
Then there will be fewer lonely people in the world.
Lonely people deserve to be loved just as much.
Truth needs to be revealed.
Isn't this the true meaning of life?
