Leaving San Diego, California, my home, I left the country for my first time to study abroad in Barcelona Spain. At first I was lost and confused and felt out of place being in a foreign place, but I took the opportunity to learn about the culture and adjust into my new home for the next three months. After learning about the culture and daily lives of Europeans', I felt like I had achieved the full experience of going abroad and feeling at home in a new place, I was ready to come back to my family and friends in the United States.
