greatest, best, worst, most important)
 Does not use “I” or “my”
 Has 2 or 3 pieces of supporting evidence

 Use a graphic organizer provided to
organize the information you want to talk
about in your paper
 Your organizer does not need to have
complete sentences
 Use your research sheets to help you

8. Rough Draft
 After completing your graphic organizer,
you may begin writing your rough draft
 Remember:
 There should be 1 Opening Paragraph, 2-3
Body Paragraphs, and 1 Conclusion
Paragraph.
 The Opening and Conclusion contain the
thesis statement.
 Paragraphs should have between 4-6
sentences.

9. Editing and Revision
 After completing your rough draft, read
over what you have read and ask these
questions:
 Does it make sense?
 Did I stay on my topic?
 Did I support my argument from my thesis?
 Do I have any major spelling or grammar errors?
