About Groundwork
No Particular Place to Go

   Youth consultation project run in West London
    between 2007 and 2012
   Aim: To empower young people to actively
    participate in the design of outdoor community
    spaces through a variety of activities.
   Outputs: Young people engaged gained confidence,
    learnt new skills and were given resources to enable
    them to play an active role in shaping their outdoor
    space and provide a sense of empowerment and
    ownership.
No Particular Place to Go Toolkit
   A ‘Step-By-Step Guide’ was
    produced intended as a tool for
    other practitioners wishing to
    engage young people in
    transforming and improving
    open spaces.

Step By Step Process
1.    Work out how much say the young people will have.
2.    Make a list of the things you want to find out.
3.    Decide what you aim to do at each stage of the
      consultation.
4.    Work out how you will access the young people.
5.    Decide on the consultation method(s) to use.
6.    Design your tools.
7.    Make sure your consultation is ethical.
8.    Build in evaluation.
9.    Analyse.
10.   Present your findings.
