USING THE DIRECTING STYLE
Organize your thoughts before you begin to speak.
Start with the big picture and then discuss the
details.
Make sure your directions are clear and specific.
If possible show employees the desired output.
Assign due dates.
Provide written instructions if the directions are
complex or lengthy.
Get feedback. Ask subordinates to explain his or
her own understanding on the task to be
performed.
